Job Description

Fortrex and Safe Foods, a division of Fortrex, are leaders in food safety solutions within the food processing industry. With over 10,000 dedicated team members operating in more than 250 plants across North America, and corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA, this company has more than 50 years of experience building long-lasting partnerships. The organization is committed to protecting the food supply by eliminating risks so that families can eat without fear. Their mission emphasizes safety at every step – from plant employees to consumers – and highlights their core principles: protecting what matters, delivering on promises through ethical standards and honesty, winning as a team by leveraging collaboration, and advancing a safer future with innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient food safety solutions.

The Site Supervisor role is a critical leadership position responsible for managing and improving sanitation operations at our customer facilities. This role involves daily supervision of hourly Food Safety Sanitors and Lead Persons across designated departments and areas, ensuring that all sanitation activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and comply fully with regulatory, customer, and company standards. While the Site Supervisor primarily directs the work of the sanitation team, they may occasionally assist during peak operational times, such as start-up and pre-operation phases, although manual labor is not the main responsibility.

Key responsibilities include assigning work tasks to sanitation leads and sanitors, evaluating staff for development opportunities, and ensuring strict adherence to company policies and government regulations. The Site Supervisor plays an essential role in maintaining compliance with the Team Member Handbook, Safety Handbook, and Cleaning Procedures and supports the Site Manager and Assistant Site Manager with training programs including safety and ERP training.

This position demands strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, a general knowledge of computer technology including Microsoft Office, and the ability to work in challenging environments characterized by wet, hot, or cold conditions while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of six months of sanitation experience. The environment and shift may vary by location but the focus remains steadfast on maintaining a safe, clean, and well-supervised sanitation operation that supports the company’s mission to protect the food supply with uncompromising quality and integrity.

Fortrex and Safe Foods are committed to equal opportunity employment and provide accommodations as required by law, promoting an inclusive and supportive workplace. The company offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, retirement plans, paid holidays and vacations, employee assistance programs, and ongoing training and development opportunities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food safety and operational leadership to make a significant impact in a leading company dedicated to advancing a safer future for consumers and employees alike.
