Job Description
Six Flags is a premier amusement park company known for delivering thrilling rides, entertainment, and exceptional guest experiences across multiple locations in North America. Dedicated to creating a safe and enjoyable environment, Six Flags takes pride in its commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout its parks. The company invests in quality staff training and operational excellence to ensure guests can experience fun and excitement without compromise.
The position of Health Standards Compliance Officer at Six Flags plays a critical role in maintaining rigorous health and safety protocols within the park’s food and beverage operations. This full-time role, compensated at an hourly rate of $18.00, is designed to help uphold all health department requirements through consistent sanitation audits, facility inspections, and continuous staff training. The role demands an individual who is highly observant, thorough, and proactive in identifying areas for improvement in cleanliness and safety procedures.
As a Health Standards Compliance Officer, your responsibilities include conducting daily sanitation audits and walk-through inspections of dining areas and kitchens to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and Six Flags’ internal policies. You will enforce proper food handling and preparation protocols, while also monitoring the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like arm guards and cut gloves to reduce the risk of workplace injuries. Your vigilance will extend to auditing alcohol service locations to prevent underage consumption by ensuring adherence to identification policies.
A significant aspect of the role involves mentoring and training team members on health and safety best practices. Observing daily operations to spot skill gaps allows you to implement corrective actions and retraining sessions that promote operational excellence. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation including cleaning checklists and temperature logs, all necessary to demonstrate compliance in both internal and external audits.
The job requires frequent collaboration with the Maintenance Department to report and resolve facility issues promptly, as well as serving as the primary liaison during inspections by the Board of Health and external auditors from Diversey. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that all safety records and documentation are readily accessible during inspections, supporting transparent and efficient regulatory compliance.
Six Flags fosters a workplace culture that values professionalism, open communication, and positive attitudes. The Health Standards Compliance Officer must be self-motivated and capable of motivating others, embracing flexible work hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasons. This role is not only about maintaining standards but also about being a proactive force that contributes to a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all guests and associates at Six Flags.
