Job Description

The Lenox is a historic and independent hotel located in Boston's Back Bay, well known for its rich heritage that dates back to 1900. Renowned for its unique character, creativity, and genuine hospitality, The Lenox offers guests a welcoming and memorable experience that feels just like home. The establishment prides itself on empowering its team members to surprise and delight guests in thoughtful ways. It serves as a welcoming home base for travelers visiting Boston and emphasizes a commitment to exceptional service across its diverse offerings. The Lenox is not only a hotel but also a hub for exquisite dining experiences with three distinctive restaurant outlets and elegant banquet and meeting spaces. These restaurants include Sweeney’s on Boylston, a neighborhood favorite famed for its authentic Irish classics and warm, spirited atmosphere; The Irving at The Lenox, an intimate cocktail bar exuding turn-of-the-century charm and renowned for crafted cocktails; and Willow & Ivy, which showcases New England–inspired American cuisine led by Executive Chef Daniel Kenney in a fresh and inviting setting.

The full-time Food Runner/Support position at The Lenox is an integral role supporting the hotel’s dynamic culinary operations. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively with a team dedicated to high standards and seamless guest experiences. Food Runners serve as the crucial link between the kitchen and diners, ensuring that food and beverages are delivered swiftly, accurately, and in a visually appealing manner. Beyond delivery, the role involves assisting servers by maintaining the flow of service through clearing tables, resetting dining areas, and managing side work and setup duties. Maintaining a polished, guest-focused demeanor, anticipating guest needs, and responding with professionalism are key elements defining success in this role. Candidates should be comfortable carrying trays and navigating the bustling dining areas typical of The Lenox’s lively restaurants. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $13 plus gratuities, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, disability coverage, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, complimentary meals during shifts, and discounted parking. This role also requires flexibility to work varying hours including days, weekends, holidays, and specific brunch and breakfast shifts. Working at The Lenox means becoming part of a respected team that values hospitality, teamwork, and the joy of creating memorable guest experiences in one of Boston’s most cherished hotels.
