The role of Food Runner/Server Assistant at The Global Ambassador encompasses a critical support position in the restaurant team. Individuals in this role assist servers and bartenders by running food to tables promptly and efficiently ensuring guest satisfaction. The food runner is responsible for clearing and resetting tables, taking tableware to the dish-room, cleaning tabletop areas, arranging tabletops, and generally maintaining a polished and organized dining area. Greeting guests with warmth, responding swiftly to their requests, and ensuring a clean and inviting dining environment are essential duties. The role also includes communicating guest requests to servers, preparing service inventory, and assisting servers with food delivery during busy periods.

The Food Runner/Server Assistant role offers a competitive wage of $13.35 per hour with both full-time and part-time positions available. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • prior restaurant experience preferred
  • must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • possess a great personality and desire to serve guests
  • enjoy working as part of a team
  • able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • able to safely lift and maneuver trays of food weighing 20 to 25 pounds
  • maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per company standards

Job Duties

  • assist servers and bartenders by running food to tables
  • clear and reset tables after guests leave
  • take tableware to dish-room and place silverware, dishes, glassware in appropriate washing areas
  • promptly clean tabletops, chairs, booths and check and clean floors as needed
  • reset and arrange tabletops
  • obtain service area assignment at the start of shifts
  • greet guests promptly and bring bread, butter, and water to tables
  • respond to guest requests appropriately
  • communicate guest requests to servers
  • coordinate with servers and hostesses to ensure efficient seating and customer service
  • prepare service inventory such as cutting butter, filling ramekins, cleaning trash cans, bus tubs, and filling ice bins
  • quickly clean spills with minimal disturbance to guests
  • assist servers with food delivery and tableware during peak periods and large parties
  • thank guests as they depart
  • fill in as needed to support smooth restaurant operations
