The Food Runner role at Sundial Beach Resort & Spa is an exciting opportunity for energetic and customer-focused individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, contributing directly to the overall dining experience. The Food Runner is responsible for transporting food from the kitchen to guests, ensuring correct table numbers and seat positions are maintained, which is crucial for delivering a seamless service. Additional responsibilities include setting up condiments and maintaining the kitchen expo line, completing side work and closing duties, and helping with pre-bussing tables and clearing dish tubs. Effective communication with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff is essential to expedite orders from multiple service windows, including hot, cold, and sushi stations. The Food Runner must maintain complete knowledge of all departmental policies, standards, and procedures to uphold the resort’s high service standards.

The ideal candidate must be prepared to work outside of a standard schedule, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to guest satisfaction. Physical demands include the ability to stand for the entire shift, climb stairs, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. This role requires excellent customer service skills, good organization, and the stamina to perform in a demanding and dynamic environment. The Food Runner is also responsible for reporting any guest concerns to the manager on duty to ensure that every guest leaves completely satisfied.
