Job Description

Hotel del Coronado, an iconic beachfront resort located on Coronado Island just minutes from downtown San Diego, is one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world. Established in 1888, this historic property spans 28 acres and features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, making it a premier luxury destination for travelers seeking a unique and memorable experience. The resort recently underwent a significant $400 million renovation and expansion, enhancing its elegance and modern amenities while preserving its timeless charm. Hotel del Coronado boasts 65,000 square feet of banquet space along with 10 food and beverage outlets, including four restaurants, two bars, a food truck, a marketplace, an ice cream shop, and in-room dining services. This mix of heritage, luxury, and contemporary dining options creates an unparalleled guest experience in Southern California.

As a Food Runner at Hotel del Coronado, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional hospitality to our guests. Your responsibilities go beyond merely transporting food; you will be an ambassador of warmth and professionalism, ensuring every guest’s dining experience is smooth, efficient, and memorable. The Food Runner position is essential in maintaining the seamless flow between the kitchen and the dining areas. You will support cooks and servers by delivering food trays, assisting with table maintenance, and managing inventory needs. Having familiarity with the hotel’s layout, services, and daily operations is crucial to excel in this role, as it enables you to navigate multiple dining outlets and proactively address guest requests.

This role requires dedication to maintaining a safe and clean environment in compliance with health department guidelines, plus attention to detail in stocking bus stations, replacing soda tanks, and managing used dishes. The Food Runner helps uphold the hotel’s high standards of service, contributing to Hilton’s core values of hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, and urgency. This role represents an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry who want to develop their career within an award-winning, globally recognized company. Joining the team means being part of Hilton’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and creating magical guest experiences every day. Employees benefit from a supportive workplace culture that values development, diversity, and the personal growth of every team member.
