Job Requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns from employees and guests
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Approach all interactions with an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions
- Maintain regular attendance according to scheduling needs
- Adhere to Highgate personal appearance and grooming standards including uniform and nametag
- Comply with all Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills including anticipating, preventing, identifying and resolving problems
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources
- Ability to cross-train in other hotel related areas
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Demonstrate initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs
- Ability to perform heavy work including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand for the entire shift
- Flexibility to work long hours when necessary
- Perform additional duties as requested by management
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
Job Duties
- Provide the highest quality service possible to guests while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout hours of operation
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees at all times
- Keep work areas clean and properly stocked according to the meal period
- Ensure tables are cleaned and set according to property standards
- Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom following established guidelines
- Assist by pre-bussing tables and promptly addressing guest requests
- Complete daily opening and closing duties along with cleaning tasks as outlined in the side-work checklist
