The Food Runner position at Waldorf Astoria Orlando is a full-time role that plays a vital part in the smooth operation of the Peacock Alley team. This role requires employees to have the flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. Food Runners are responsible for maintaining and transporting all food products for designated outlets within the hotel, contributing directly to the delivery of excellent guest service and supporting the hotel's financial objectives. With a pay rate of $14.50 per hour plus tips, this position offers an opportunity to be part of a renowned luxury hotel brand while gaining valuable experience in high-end food and beverage service.
As a Food Runner, you will be entrusted with preparing and replenishing foods for both hot and cold buffets, ensuring freshness and presentation meet the standards of the Waldorf Astoria brand. Your duties will include managing a variety of items such as fruit, juices, cereals, bread, and hot foods, along with replenishing ice supplies while adhering to stringent time and temperature sanitation standards. You will transport food items between the kitchen and service areas, monitor inventory levels, restock outlets, and assist with buffet breakdown and setup for upcoming service periods. Maintaining cleanliness in your work area and properly storing food stock and dry goods according to established standards are also key responsibilities.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and replenish foods for hot and cold buffets including fruit, juices, cereals, bread, and hot food
- Replenish ice and maintain time and temperature sanitation standards
- Transport food items to and from the kitchen
- Check, maintain and control inventory of food items
- Restock outlets with inventory and break down the buffet to clean, replace and set up for the next day
- Perform general cleaning to maintain cleanliness of work area
- Put away food stock and dry goods according to established standards
