Job Description
Chili's is a renowned casual dining restaurant chain that originated in Dallas, Texas in 1975. Over the decades, Chili's has established itself as a leader in the casual dining industry, offering a menu packed with Big Mouth burgers, house-smoked ribs, flavorful fajitas, and hand-shaken margaritas that have become iconic among food lovers. The brand is deeply rooted in the values of exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to giving back to the community. Chili's continues to stand out as a favorite dining destination by focusing on delivering memorable experiences to every Guest who walks through its doors, ensuring that each visit feels unique and welcoming.
The Food Runner position at Chili's is a pivotal role designed to enhance the overall dining experience for Guests while supporting the Restaurant Team in a fast-paced environment. Food Runners are passionate about food, beverages, and creating positive interactions with Guests and fellow team members alike. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a cheerful demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to contribute to a hospitable environment. Employee growth is a key focus of Chili's, with Food Runners often having the opportunity to quickly advance to server positions. The position offers flexible scheduling options, including part-time and full-time hours, catering to diverse availability needs. Furthermore, Chili's emphasizes a positive team atmosphere where collaboration and respect among coworkers foster a thriving workspace.
As a Food Runner, your primary responsibility is to ensure that every Guest receives customized and attentive service. You will act as a vital connection between the kitchen and dining area by swiftly and accurately delivering food and beverages. Beyond just the physical delivery, you will engage with Guests, enhancing their experience through friendly interactions and an eagerness to meet their needs. Maintaining cleanliness in the dining area is also critical; this includes pre-bussing tables by removing empty dishes, glassware, and debris to prepare for incoming Guests promptly. Working closely with servers and other team members, you will help maintain the seamless flow of operations during busy service periods. This role demands flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the restaurant’s operational needs.
Chili's values individuals who bring a positive attitude and who naturally embody great hospitality. The ideal Food Runner is quick-thinking and comfortable working in a high-volume restaurant setting where multitasking is essential. Previous restaurant experience is an advantage but not mandatory, as Chili's provides comprehensive training to set up every team member for success. Working at Chili's is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a supportive team culture that encourages personal and professional growth, celebrates diversity, and prioritizes making every Guest feel special. Joining Chili's as a Food Runner means joining a brand with a proud history, a dedication to quality food and service, and a clear path for career advancement.
