The role available is for a Food Expediter in the rooftop restaurant, focused on delivering high-quality food to guests efficiently and according to company standards. This position is integral to maintaining the flow of service, ensuring that each meal is prepared and presented perfectly and served in a timely manner. The Food Expediter will work closely with the kitchen staff and servers to manage orders accurately and help create an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Responsibilities include managing the food station during busy periods, assisting servers, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and verifying each dish before delivery for accuracy and presentation. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a professional demeanor that represents the Marriott brand.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Basic reading and writing skills necessary to perform daily functions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Good knowledge of restaurant industry
  • At least 1 year of experience in foodservice industry
  • Must be able to multi-task

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Basic reading and writing skills necessary to perform daily functions and successfully fulfill training and testing requirements
  • Strong communication skills to allow problem solving and anticipate the guest's needs
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally to co-workers and team members
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Strong organization skills to maintain multiple orders in expo window and ensure guests receive correct order
  • Basic computer skills to utilize the POSI system for clocking-in and out, and to read printed ticket orders
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Good knowledge of the restaurant industry
  • At least 1 year in the foodservice industry
  • Must be able to multi-task

Job Duties

  • Accomplish assigned daily tasks and duties designated by management
  • Maintain control of station in peak periods
  • Maintain station cleanliness and organization throughout shift
  • Complete all assigned opening, running, and closing sidework
  • Ensure the proper placement and presentation of dinner orders on a tray
  • Inspect all plates and product before it reaches the guest to ensure accuracy of order, garnish, proper temperature, and appealing presentation
  • Expedite service of food to ensure the guests receive their order in a prompt and efficient manner
