The Food Runner/Expo role at Milk & Honey is integral to creating an unforgettable dining experience by delivering culinary delights to guests with precision, enthusiasm, and attentiveness. This fast-paced, exhilarating position requires seamless collaboration with kitchen and waitstaff to maintain a smooth flow of food delivery while upholding exceptional service standards. Food Runners and Expos at Milk & Honey are not only responsible for ensuring accurate and timely food orders but also act as brand ambassadors who contribute to creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere for all guests. The role offers the opportunity to demonstrate your dedication to outstanding service, learn an extensive menu of Southern dishes, and work within a dynamic team passionate about great food and hospitality.
Candidates in this role will take pride in maintaining cleanliness and organization of their workstations and the kitchen pass area. They will be knowledgeable about the menu offerings and ingredients to respond to guest inquiries effectively and offer recommendations when appropriate. The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure is critical due to the fast-paced environment, especially during busy hours. Other important responsibilities include checking food quality, presentation, and portion sizes, coordinating special requests with the kitchen, and resolving any order issues quickly to maintain guest satisfaction. This position requires significant physical stamina including standing and walking for extended periods, safely carrying trays or dish racks weighing up to 40-50 pounds, and navigating crowded spaces in a hot, wet, and noisy kitchen and dining environment.

Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods up to 8+ hours per shift
- Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 40-50 lbs such as trays dish racks furniture
- Frequent bending stooping kneeling reaching and twisting
- Manual dexterity to handle dishes glassware and cleaning tools safely
- Ability to work in a hot wet and noisy environment including kitchen and dining areas
- Ability to navigate crowded spaces while carrying items safely
- Visual and auditory ability to identify spills hazards and guest needs
Job Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Able to communicate effectively in the primary language of the work
- Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Able to work flexible shifts and schedules inclusive of weekends and all holidays
- Ability to learn menu items and service procedures
- Ability to take direction and to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Exude energy and enthusiasm as you deliver food orders to guests ensuring prompt and accurate service
- Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth flow of food delivery and exceptional guest experience
- Provide attentive and friendly service going above and beyond to exceed guest expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and dining area
- Be knowledgeable about menu offerings and ingredients and able to answer guest inquiries and make recommendations
- Act as a brand ambassador creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Check food quality presentation and portion sizes
- Coordinate between kitchen staff and servers
- Organize and prioritize tickets during busy hours
- Communicate special requests and modifications to the kitchen
- Ensure complete and accurate food orders before they leave the kitchen
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pass area
- Resolve order issues quickly to maintain guest satisfaction
