La Popular is a vibrant and chef-driven Mexican restaurant concept that originated in Mexico City, renowned as one of the world’s most exciting culinary hubs. Since its launch in Roseville, California in 2022, La Popular has rapidly expanded to multiple locations including Austin, Porter Ranch, and Claremont, with plans for further growth. La Popular is currently seeking an energetic and passionate Food Runner to join their growing team. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of service by expediting all menu items throughout shifts while ensuring timely delivery and impeccable quality in accordance with La Popular's standards. The Food Runner will work closely with kitchen and service teams to facilitate a seamless dining experience for guests, contributing to an environment that feels both alive and hospitable.

Working in a fast-paced and fun environment, the Food Runner plays a vital role in supporting restaurant operations, assisting with setup and breakdown, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guest satisfaction. This position reports directly to the General Manager and indirectly to other members of management, highlighting its integral place within the organizational structure.

Job Requirements

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Compliance with employee handbook and training manuals
  • Adhere to La Popular's policies including dress code
  • Fast foot speed and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to greet and assist guests with a friendly disposition
  • Ability to memorize food, drink, and rotating menus daily
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding alcohol service
  • Ability to perform opening and closing duties such as cleaning and food prep

Job Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Food Handler Certified
  • RBS Certified
  • Positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm
  • Passion for the brand
  • Outgoing personality
  • Limited beer, tequila, and mezcal knowledge

Job Duties

  • Expedite all menu items throughout the shift to guests within time standards
  • Provide the best quality product for each guest
  • Set up expo station to standard with proper garnishing tools
  • Collect dirty dishes and bring them to the kitchen
  • Maintain and track time standards for all menu items
  • Replenish condiments such as straws, napkins, and ice
  • Bus tables throughout the restaurant and set tables to La Popular standards
