Job Description

Marriott International is a globally renowned leader in the hospitality industry, specializing in upscale lodging and exceptional guest experiences. Operating numerous brand names worldwide, Marriott sets the standard for excellence and innovation in hotel management and service. Situated at 601 S College St, Charlotte, North Carolina, the Westin brand, part of the Marriott family, stands out as a wellness-focused hotel committed to empowering guests to achieve their best selves during their travels. The Westin promises comfort, rejuvenation, and a memorable experience underscored by quality service and a passion for well-being. Marriott and Westin are dedicated to fostering a workplace where diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity are paramount. The organization actively embraces a culture that values varied backgrounds, talents, and experiences, ensuring all employees feel welcomed and supported regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

This role is for a full-time, non-management position at the Westin hotel in Charlotte, offering a competitive hourly wage of $18.57. The position is specifically focused on food and beverage services within the hospitality setting, aimed at delivering an exceptional guest experience that goes beyond simply serving food. The Guest Service Expert is central to creating an environment that our guests find memorable and unique. These team members take initiative in providing comprehensive services that contribute to the overall guest experience. They assist with setting tables, supporting kitchen operations, cleaning work areas, and replenishing supplies. Their efforts help to integrate all service aspects to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Guest Service Experts at Westin perform various physical tasks which demand stamina and mobility, including standing, sitting, walking over extended periods, and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces. They engage actively with the menu, verifying information to better assist guests. Their responsibilities require them to move, lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance, reach high places, and perform movements involving bending knees, twisting, stretching, and stooping. These duties and any other reasonable tasks assigned are crucial to maintaining a seamless, satisfactory guest experience and smooth hotel functioning.

Additionally, the role emphasizes professionalism in appearance, communication, and adherence to company standards and safety protocols. Westin seeks individuals who are enthusiastic, proactive, and health-conscious—people who not only thrive in their careers but also embrace wellness in their personal lives. This position offers the chance to join an incredible global team, where employees are supported to fulfill their purpose and become the best version of themselves while contributing actively to a leading wellness brand in hospitality.
