Job Description

The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is a distinguished hospitality establishment located in the vibrant and scenic community of Carlsbad, California. Known for its exceptional service and premium guest experiences, The Cassara embodies the spirit of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton, delivering a unique blend of local culture and upscale accommodations within its resort setting. Operated by Grand Pacific Hotel Services, L.P., this property upholds rigorous standards to create a welcoming and memorable environment for all visitors. While Hilton sponsors the brand, it is important to note that Hilton is not the direct employer or operator of the staff at The Cassara Carlsbad. Instead, all associates are employed and managed by Grand Pacific Hotel Services, ensuring specialized attention to recruitment, training, and daily operations that reflect the resort’s commitment to excellence. The Cassara Carlsbad offers a dynamic work atmosphere, embracing diversity, growth, and seasonable staffing needs that align with the hospitality industry's ebb and flow.

The role available is a Seasonal Food Runner, from March 2026 to August 2026, which is specifically designed to assist Food Servers in maintaining an excellent dining experience for guests. This position plays a crucial part in the food and beverage team, acting as a liaison between the culinary staff and guests to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and presentation quality of all outgoing dishes. The Food Runner's responsibilities include inspecting all plated meals to confirm proper preparation and garnishing, running food to customers' tables efficiently, bussing tables to maintain cleanliness and readiness, and restocking plates to support seamless service during busy periods. Additionally, the role requires interaction with both customers and staff to communicate effectively about current menu options, beverage lists, and daily specials, ensuring guests are well-informed and satisfied with their selections.

This job demands physical stamina and agility, as the Food Runner must be able to stand and move steadily for extended periods and handle physical tasks such as lifting trays of food weighing up to 50 pounds and moving carts up to 250 pounds. Besides physical requirements, the role emphasizes strong communication capabilities, teamwork, and the ability to maintain a professional, courteous demeanor under pressure. The ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in the primary language of the workplace contributes to the smooth function of communication processes. Familiarity with resort-style food and beverage menus, including the knowledge of alcoholic beverages, is expected to enhance guest interaction and satisfaction.

Employment with The Cassara Carlsbad also entails adherence to company policies, including consistent attendance, participation in training sessions, and compliance with grooming standards that reflect the resort’s high service values. All employees must uphold these standards to promote a positive, engaging environment and ensure operational excellence. Furthermore, the position requires a valid Food Handler’s Card as a licensing prerequisite, emphasizing the importance of safety and hygiene in food service operations. The seasonal nature of the job aligns with the hospitality industry's fluctuating activity levels, allowing the candidate to gain valuable experience in a luxurious resort setting and develop skills that are instrumental for future hospitality careers. Overall, this Seasonal Food Runner role offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute to a superior guest experience at a prestigious hotel while engaging with a dynamic and supportive team environment.
