Job Description
This job opening is with a reputable hospitality establishment located in Boise that is known for delivering exceptional dining experiences to its customers. The company is committed to providing a dynamic and enjoyable work environment where team members can thrive and develop valuable skills in the food service industry. As a seasonal role, this position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in fast-paced environments and want to gain hands-on experience in restaurant operations. The company prides itself on its teamwork-oriented culture and its dedication to maintaining high standards of customer service and food quality. They seek vibrant and motivated individuals who are ready to contribute positively to a team that plays a crucial role in ensuring customers have a memorable dining experience.
The position available is for a Food Runner or Busser, which are both essential roles within the restaurant’s front-of-house team. As a Food Runner, you will be responsible for delivering food orders promptly from the kitchen to the dining area, making sure that all items on the orders are accurate and presented nicely according to restaurant standards. This role requires close coordination with both the kitchen staff and serving team to ensure seamless communication about any special requests, delays, or issues that arise. As a Busser, your primary duties will focus on keeping the dining area clean, organized, and welcoming by clearing tables quickly after guests leave and resetting those tables with the appropriate condiments, utensils, and napkins to prepare for the next customers. You will also support the front-of-house staff during busy periods by assisting with various tasks aimed at enhancing overall service efficiency.
This seasonal role is suitable for applicants aged 16 and older, making it an ideal entry-level opportunity for students, part-time workers, or anyone looking to build their experience in hospitality. The role is at-will, meaning employment can be terminated by either party at any time, which adds flexibility for those seeking temporary or supplementary employment. The position demands working during evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the operational hours of a busy restaurant. It also involves physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, standing for extended periods, and navigating a sometimes noisy and bustling environment. However, the company makes reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their duties effectively.
This role is particularly fitting for energetic, team-oriented individuals who enjoy staying active and contributing to a smooth-running restaurant operation. It provides a great platform for those looking to develop strong customer service skills, learn the intricacies of food service logistics, and experience firsthand what it takes to support a successful dining establishment. By joining this team, employees become part of a collaborative work culture that values communication, efficiency, and a customer-first attitude, ensuring that every guest leaves with a positive impression and a desire to return. Overall, this position not only helps maintain the restaurant's reputation for excellence but also offers valuable professional growth opportunities within the hospitality sector.
