Job Description

HOUSEpitality Restaurants is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant group that owns and operates four distinct dining establishments: Boathouse, Casa del Barco, Island Shrimp Co., and Can Can Brasserie, all located in and around Richmond, VA. As a part of the HOUSEpitality Family, the company prides itself on creating memorable dining experiences where guests come to celebrate life one bite at a time. Each location features unique character, great views, and delicious food, establishing a strong presence in the Richmond culinary scene. The organization's commitment to excellence is reflected not only in its food and ambiance but also in the quality of service provided by its employees. Being a part of HOUSEpitality means joining a team that values integrity, knowledge, empowerment, and innovation, which guide every aspect of the business from leadership to day-to-day operations.

The Support role at HOUSEpitality is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of their restaurants while enhancing the overall guest experience. This position encompasses responsibilities that blend those of food runners, bussers, and barbacks, offering flexibility and variety in daily tasks. Food runners and bussers play an essential role in delivering orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to the customer, ensuring that each dining experience meets the highest standards. Additionally, they are responsible for cleaning and setting tables efficiently, facilitating a continuous flow of guests and keeping the dining environment welcoming and organized.

Barbacks, on the other hand, help the bar run seamlessly by managing inventory tasks such as stocking liquors, refilling garnishes, and maintaining glassware. They support bartenders by handling the dishwasher and ensuring the bar area is always prepared for service. What makes this role rewarding is the blend of behind-the-scenes responsibilities with active guest interaction, requiring a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills. Employees in this position work closely with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff, acting as an integral communication bridge that fosters collaboration and effective service.

HOUSEpitality offers flexible in-store training, which helps new hires gain the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles. The company also promotes a healthy work-life balance, with paid time off (PTO) beginning to accrue from day one of employment. The compensation structure supports staff motivation, with weekly pay via direct deposit. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance. Additional benefits such as short-term disability, basic life insurance, and tuition reimbursement programs reflect HOUSEpitality's dedication to employee well-being and growth.

Overall, the Support role at HOUSEpitality is perfect for individuals passionate about hospitality who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working as part of a team. The company’s culture emphasizes respect, personal development, and internal promotion, making it an excellent place for career advancement. If you are looking for a job where you can have fun, make money, and contribute to delivering exceptional service with a reputable restaurant group, then joining HOUSEpitality could be the right move for you.
