Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and quality service. At the heart of its operations is the JW Marriott brand, which represents Marriott's luxury portfolio of over 100 exquisite hotels located in sought-after city destinations and resort locations worldwide. JW Marriott emphasizes employee satisfaction, believing that when its employees are happy and supported, guest satisfaction naturally follows. Marriott International is deeply committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion, promoting an environment where people from all backgrounds are welcomed and valued. They provide equal opportunities to all candidates, including those with disabilities or veterans, and comply fully with applicable laws regarding employment and non-discrimination.

Located in Newport Beach, California, VEA Newport Beach A Marriott Resort & Spa is a part of this prestigious JW Marriott portfolio. This resort offers a luxurious setting and an engaging work environment focused on holistic wellness, camaraderie, and professional growth. At this location, the company is seeking dedicated Food and Beverage & Culinary team members to contribute to its mission of delivering memorable dining experiences to its guests. The position is full-time, non-management, and hourly paid at $18.00 per hour, with additional opportunities for tips and service charge compensation. Candidates should have open and preferably weekend availability.

The role focuses on providing top-notch service that goes beyond just serving food and drinks. As a Food and Beverage Service Expert, you will take initiative in delivering various guest services, including setting tables, assisting in the kitchen, cleaning work areas, and restocking supplies. The goal is to integrate all these tasks seamlessly into the guest experience and ensure maximum satisfaction. The job involves physical activity such as standing, walking, sitting, and moving across uneven or slippery surfaces, lifting items up to 50 pounds independently, reaching high areas, bending, twisting, stretching, and crouching. Staff members are expected to maintain professionalism in appearance, uniform, communication, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.

This is a great entry-level opportunity in the hospitality industry, especially for individuals interested in food service and guest interaction. While prior experience in culinary or food service environments is valued, it is not required. The employer considers secondary education or GED equivalent as a qualification, but the primary focus is on dedication, the ability to follow procedures, and enthusiasm for creating excellent guest experiences.

JW Marriott offers an unparalleled workplace culture that fosters innovation, genuine connections, and ongoing training and development. Employees benefit from extensive recognition programs and career advancement opportunities within one of the world's most prestigious hotel brands. Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a vast global network where you can fulfill your purpose, contribute to a dynamic team, and grow into your best professional self. This role is perfect for those eager to start or enhance their career in the luxury hospitality sector, providing vibrant, supportive work environments that value well-being and teamwork. Experience the distinguished service culture known as The JW Treatment, and be part of a brand that is synonymous with hospitality excellence worldwide.
