Job Description

The Bartolotta Restaurants is a distinguished and nationally recognized restaurant and catering organization that has been a premier culinary brand in the Greater Milwaukee region since its founding in 1993. Co-founded by renowned restaurateur Joe Bartolotta and his brother, the acclaimed two-time James Beard Award-winning Chef Paul Bartolotta, this family-run company is celebrated for its excellence in service, cuisine, and commitment to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for both guests and staff. The Bartolotta Restaurants operates a portfolio of 18 unique restaurants and catering venues, offering a breadth of dining experiences that range from elegant fine dining to casual, approachable settings. Beyond its culinary achievements, the company values community engagement and philanthropic efforts, exemplified through its Care-a-lotta program, which supports many nonprofit organizations across Milwaukee.

At The Bartolotta Restaurants, team members are viewed as the company’s greatest asset, embraced as part of an extended family where each individual’s contribution is vital to the success and continued growth of the brand. The company emphasizes a strong culture centered on a “hospitality heart,” where every team member is encouraged to deliver excellence in guest service through dedication, passion, and a proactive, positive attitude. This hospitable culture is paired with a commitment to providing extensive benefits and professional development opportunities, making Bartolotta a desirable place to work for those passionate about hospitality and culinary arts.

The Food Runner role plays an essential part within The Bartolotta Restaurants' fast-paced and high-energy environment. A Food Runner is responsible for delivering meals from the kitchen directly to guests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with every order to guarantee an outstanding dining experience. This role demands a team-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic workplace, enjoys staying active, and takes pride in maintaining smooth operations during service. As a Food Runner, you will actively support servers by helping manage dining room logistics such as restocking stations with glassware, flatware, and napkins, as well as assisting in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant. Your responsibilities will also include bussing tables and sorting dishes to facilitate efficient dishwashing, which contribute to an overall seamless guest experience.

Beyond performing essential food delivery duties, the Food Runner engages directly with guests, greeting them with friendliness and accommodating any specific requests to ensure high levels of satisfaction. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, a pleasant and accommodating personality, and the ability to maintain positivity during the busiest hours. Working as a Food Runner at The Bartolotta Restaurants offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to be part of a respected culinary institution with a family atmosphere and a strong commitment to both guest and employee well-being. The position is typically full-time and offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, life insurance options, disability coverage, employee assistance programs, savings plans, and special discounts at the company’s fine dining locations.

Joining The Bartolotta Restaurants means being part of a vibrant team where world-class mentors support your growth through hands-on training and career development. If you have a passion for hospitality, enjoy staying busy in a dynamic restaurant environment, and want to be a crucial link ensuring guests enjoy impeccable service and fine cuisine, the Food Runner position is an excellent match for you.
