In preparation for an exciting Summer 2026, Pinehurst Country Club is actively seeking a Food Runner to join its dedicated Food and Beverage team. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.00 and emphasizes a culture of service excellence, teamwork, and member satisfaction. The role of the Food Runner is crucial in ensuring seamless communication and service between the kitchen staff and serving personnel. As a Food Runner, the individual will be responsible for delivering food promptly and politely to members and guests, ensuring that all dishes are correctly matched to orders, and maintaining cleanliness and organization at service stations. This position also involves assisting servers, preparing banquet and meeting areas, and supporting the overall dining and event experiences at the club. Importantly, the Food Runner will help uphold the club's high standards of hospitality and ensure that guests receive timely and courteous service throughout their visit. Candidates for this role must be physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing frequent movements such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.

Job Duties
- Assist servers
- ensure all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service
- ensure plated hot food leaves the kitchen quickly
- carefully match all food items to correct orders
- carry food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket
- maintain cleanliness of service stations in kitchen while ensuring that the kitchen is free from clutter and that the kitchen floor is clean and safe
- ensure that bread, soup and other food products are available
- ensure all items in to-go orders are correctly assembled and labeled
- wipe up spills or drips on rims of dishes
- assist server assistants in dining room with clearing soiled dishes, filling waters and setting the dining room
- break down and clean service stations in kitchen at the end of shift
- report complaints to manager on duty
- open meeting rooms and function areas prior to meetings and functions
- empty trash from meeting rooms and function areas
- verify all scheduled functions are set according to banquet event order specifications
- maintain cleanliness and order of all public areas adjacent to banquet functions
- store equipment and materials properly in correct areas
- ensure storerooms and equipment storage areas are orderly and clean
- set up indoor meetings and outdoor banquet functions with appropriate equipment including tables, chairs, glasses, china and other items requested
- inspect equipment for defects, cleanliness or maintenance needs and report to supervisor
- set lighting, props, floral arrangements, and decorations as specified in banquet event orders
- set coffee breaks according to food and beverage standards
- retrieve and return function linens to proper locations
- prepare banquet functions for following day according to supervisor's directions and banquet event order
- perform other duties as assigned
