This position requires the individual to work closely with the kitchen staff to expedite and deliver food orders quickly and accurately to guests. The Food Runner is responsible for maintaining the quality and presentation of dishes as they are served, guaranteeing that meals are properly portioned and garnished according to established standards. Beyond just delivering food, the role often involves clearing tables, bussing dishes, and setting tables as needed to maintain a clean and organized dining environment. This ensures guests enjoy a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere throughout their dining experience.
Additionally, the Food Runner plays an instrumental part in communication by keeping wait staff informed about kitchen wait times and any shortages in products. Adherence to all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines is essential, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety and quality. Job Duties
- Delivers food trays to dining room
- Ensures all orders leaving the kitchen meet presentation standards and meet guest requests
- Clears tables and buses dirty dishes to dishwashing areas
- Sets tables as directed
- Maintains a neat, clean, organized, safe, and comfortable environment for guests
- Informs wait staff of kitchen wait times and product shortages
- Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines
