We are currently seeking a Runner/Expo to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial as the lynchpin between the kitchen and the guests, ensuring a seamless flow of communication and food delivery. The Runner/Expo is responsible for making sure that plates prepared in the kitchen are finished properly and delivered quickly and accurately to the guests. This position requires constant motion and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
The ideal Runner/Expo will not only deliver food but also describe the dishes as they are presented to guests, enhancing their dining experience with detailed knowledge of the menu. Handling and communicating guest requests or special needs efficiently is essential to meet high standards of customer service. Additionally, the Runner/Expo will assist servers with side work during slower periods and ensure the station is fully set with all necessary items for both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
Attention to detail and maintaining a clean workstation are also key responsibilities, contributing to the overall smooth functioning of the restaurant. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong physical stamina
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Job Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of menu items and ingredients
- Experience in a similar role is preferred

Job Duties
- Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
- Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
- Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
- Assist servers in side work during down times
- Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
- Maintain a clean workstation
