Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 6 months of related experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • state-issued food handling certification as required
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • ability to speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers

Job Duties

  • maintain product knowledge to ensure the accuracy of recipes and notify guests of ingredients
  • maintain product allergen knowledge and pay close attention to ensure accuracy and proper communication of dishes with allergen alerts
  • prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
  • serve food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required
  • verify that guests have proper dishware and utensils needed for the course upon delivery of food
  • provide clear communication between front and back of house staff
  • remove dishes and glassware from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
  • clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining as needed
  • stock area with dining supplies such as plates, utensils, glassware, and linens
  • ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns
  • inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
