The Food Runner position at Hilltop Tavern is a crucial support role that helps ensure efficient and quality service to customers by assisting waitstaff in delivering food and beverages to tables promptly. This role requires someone who is capable of multitasking, staying highly organized, and communicating effectively with both customers and team members to deliver a seamless dining experience. The Food Runner is responsible not only for delivering food accurately and quickly but also for maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. This position includes assisting with table bus duties, such as clearing dirty dishes and trash, as well as helping set up tables before and after service with appropriate utensils, napkins, and decorations. The individual in this role plays a vital part in enhancing customer satisfaction by actively checking in with guests to ensure their needs are met and promptly handling any impromptu requests. Physical stamina is essential, as this role requires carrying items, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Food Handler certification is required or the willingness to obtain it, with TABC certification considered a plus. Job Duties
- Deliver food and drink orders to customers quickly and accurately
- Uphold sanitation and food safety principles
- Bus tables when needed by removing dirty dishes and trash
- Check in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory
- Relay reports of customer satisfaction to the management and relevant parties
- Ensure patrons have all the appropriate tableware they need to properly enjoy their food
- Assist setting up tables before service with appropriate utensils, napkins and decorations
- Handle various impromptu requests from customers
