In the role of Runner/Expo, you will be responsible for facilitating efficient food delivery while providing guests with descriptive insights about the dishes being served. You will ensure that plates leaving the kitchen are finished to perfection and delivered accurately and promptly to guests’ tables. This position demands continual motion and engagement, as you will be navigating between the kitchen and dining areas to coordinate plate completion, communicate guest needs, and respond to any requests in real-time. In addition to running food, you will assist servers with side work during slower periods, ensure that workstations are fully stocked and clean, and maintain a harmonious environment conducive to teamwork. This role is perfect for candidates who enjoy multitasking, working under pressure, and delivering top-notch service in a lively restaurant environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to carry moderately heavy items
  • Reliable and punctual

  • Prior experience in a restaurant or food service role
  • Ability to describe food and communicate clearly with guests

Job Duties

  • Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
  • Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
  • Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
  • Assist servers in side work during down times
  • Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
  • Maintain a clean workstation
