Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in high volume food production, manufacturing, restaurant or catering environment preferred
  • Strong and effective leadership skills managing 30+ hourly employees
  • Ability to drive positive program change
  • Experience in labor relations a plus
  • Ability to train others
  • Ability to give daily constructive feedback
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Innovative with ability to improve work environment and performance
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification required
  • ServSafe Certified preferred
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi or Polish a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures quality production standards are maintained for all accounts
  • Maintains company policies and procedures as well as specification books for airline customers and serve as a knowledgeable resource
  • Controls food cost and other controllable costs
  • Works with management staff to improve performance of the unit
  • Prepares management reports such as attendance, HACCP and labor reports
  • Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specifications and regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Ensures specifications, airline diagrams, and other standards are accurate according to the airline specifications
  • Ensures that all products are coded according to Gate Gourmet procedures
  • Conducts inventory of products and customer materials to ensure proper usage and minimization of waste
  • Completes required requisitions for the Storeroom to ensure adequate supply is maintained
  • Responsible for maintaining daily temperature logs and other logs and reports as required
  • Works with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules and reports issues timely
  • Responsible for performance evaluation, coaching, counseling and preparing corrective action for employees
  • Manages work flow balancing and division of responsibilities among employees on each shift
  • Determines staffing needs and calls in employees to cover sick calls, vacation relief, medical leaves, or volume changes
  • Ensures compliance with company Wage and Hour policy including rest and meal breaks
  • Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to maximize productivity with minimum labor and food expenses
  • Monitors daily manpower planning and schedules employees
  • Responsible for employee retention and reducing employee turnover
  • Reviews and ensures correct cost centers, job titles and pay rates based on wage scales and seniority
  • Ensures completion of all company required training including ServSafe
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures and required training
