Job Description

The Fresh Market is a specialty grocery retailer dedicated to making everyday eating extraordinary for its guests. Founded with a mission to create a warm, welcoming, and memorable shopping experience, the store emphasizes exceptional, personalized service that fosters customer loyalty and community engagement. Known for its high-quality products and a strong commitment to excellence, The Fresh Market offers shoppers not only a wide variety of fresh, natural, and organic foods but also an inviting atmosphere that highlights culinary inspiration and health-conscious choices. As a company, The Fresh Market values teamwork, celebrates shared successes, and aims to cultivate a positive work environment that encourages employee growth and satisfaction.

The Production Manager role at The Fresh Market is a pivotal leadership position within the store’s operations. This role focuses on overseeing the production department to ensure the delivery of top-quality products and complete meal solutions that meet the high standards of the brand. The Production Manager leads a team, manages operational procedures, and maintains compliance with safety and food quality standards. Working during the early morning hours, this position requires an individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and can efficiently manage production activities from receiving and stocking to product preparation and presentation. This leader is expected to foster a culture of hospitality, excellence, and teamwork while driving results to help create an exceptional guest experience.

The role reports directly to the Store Operations Manager and involves collaborating closely with several other store departments, including Deli, Meat-Seafood, Bakery, and Produce, to ensure seamless operations and product availability. The Production Manager is responsible for minimizing product loss through careful inventory management and training their team using The Fresh Market Academy, which includes both on-the-job and online learning tools. This comprehensive approach to training ensures that team members deliver excellent guest services safely and efficiently. Additionally, the manager develops work schedules aligned with store hours to optimize productivity and guest satisfaction while coaching and motivating team members to enhance their skills and career development.

The position requires availability during early morning shifts, from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m., typically with days off on Sunday and Wednesday, reflecting the early operational hours needed to prepare products for the day's shoppers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and relevant experience in retail, hospitality, or food production environments. Food safety certification or a willingness to obtain it is necessary to comply with health regulations.

In summary, this is a dynamic leadership role that offers the chance to influence the store's success directly and the customer experience positively. The Fresh Market supports its employees not only through competitive pay and benefits but also with financial wellness programs, team member discounts, and opportunities for professional growth. By joining the team as a Production Manager, candidates will be a vital part of a company that prioritizes exceptional quality, customer service excellence, and a supportive, engaging work culture.
