The Food Production Manager 3 position at Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN located within Sodexo’s healthcare division highlights Sodexo’s dedication to supporting vital health services through superior food production and culinary innovation. This is a full-time role, designed to lead a culinary team in a hospital environment while balancing operational excellence with patient-focused service. The role inspires leadership to impact daily operations positively and maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and nutrition essential for patient care.

In this position, you will oversee the implementation and standardization of all culinary systems and procedures specific to the hospital setting, ensuring compliance with food safety and physical safety standards. You will be responsible for annual training of hourly associates and maintain a high level of excellence in food preparation, ensuring menus are thoughtfully created to meet client nutritional needs and preferences. Part of the role includes the procurement and purchasing of food supplies, fostering cost efficiency and quality.

A critical aspect of this job is managing, directing, and mentoring frontline staff, helping them develop professionally and delivering excellent service each day. Innovation is also encouraged as you will be expected to introduce fresh ideas to retail, catering, and patient services, enhancing the overall customer and patient experience within the hospital. Building strong interpersonal relationships with clients and hospital stakeholders is fundamental to delivering collaborative and responsive food services.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • two years of management experience
  • one year of work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
  • strong culinary background in a high-volume environment
  • menu planning experience
  • ability to multitask and work in a high-standards driven environment
  • ability to lead, develop and train a team
  • proficient computer skills
  • highly organized
  • detail-focused

Job Qualifications
