Job Requirements

  • Experience in cooking or a comparable role
  • Food safety certification
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking techniques
  • Ability to handle knives and kitchen utensils safely
  • Effective communication skills
  • Physical capability to perform kitchen tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods
  • Adherence to food safety and sanitation policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in cooking or a comparable role
  • Confirmed grasp of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking techniques, and compliance with food safety regulations
  • Food safety certification
  • Expertise in basic math operations and numerical counting proficiency
  • Proficiency in interpersonal communication skills, including both written and verbal communication
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
