Job Description
Kissaki is a renowned restaurant dedicated to delivering a unique and innovative culinary experience deeply rooted in Japanese tradition. Committed to excellence, Kissaki blends authentic flavors with modern techniques to craft dishes that captivate guests and offer a memorable dining experience. As a reputable establishment in the hospitality industry, Kissaki prides itself on maintaining high standards in food quality, presentation, and customer service. With a focus on continual improvement, the restaurant fosters a supportive and dynamic work environment that encourages team collaboration and professional growth.
At Kissaki, the role of the kitchen assistant is pivotal to the success of daily operations. This position involves assisting the chef in preparing ingredients and supporting various kitchen stations with Japanese appetizers and other dishes. The kitchen assistant ensures that all food prep adheres to health and safety regulations as well as restaurant standards, maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods. The kitchen assistant must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working effectively as part of a team to help deliver a consistent and high-quality dining experience for every guest.
Key responsibilities include preparing ingredients such as cleaning, chopping, and measuring daily necessities; assisting chefs with prep tasks like sauce preparation and cutting of meat, fish, and vegetables; restocking supplies; and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the kitchen. This role also demands adherence to food safety guidelines and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items. Flexible availability is essential, with an expectation to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
The culture at Kissaki is grounded in three core values that guide every team member's work and attitude. The first value, Hone Our Craft, emphasizes perfecting hospitality skills to consistently deliver exceptional service and culinary quality. The second value, Seek Out Balance, focuses on creating an experience that embodies a complete spectrum of flavors, textures, and meaningful interactions with guests. The third value, Strive for Success, encourages the team to push themselves daily, seize opportunities, and create their own achievements. These values manifest in every aspect of the restaurant’s operations and help maintain a vibrant and motivated team dedicated to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.
