With a strong focus on team collaboration and employee development, Gate Gourmet fosters an inclusive workplace where employees are valued for their contributions and supported in their professional growth.
The Food Preparer role based in San Diego is pivotal in supporting Gate Gourmet's mission to provide superior catering services to various airlines. Working in the food preparation and packing department means you will be handling various food products including pork, poultry, meat, and fish. You will need to be comfortable with the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving loads up to 50 pounds frequently during your shift, and working in environments with extreme temperature variations, including cold rooms maintained at 40 degrees or less. Your efforts directly contribute to the seamless delivery of meals that help travelers enjoy a memorable culinary experience during their flights.

The position is full-time and may require flexibility in scheduling, including working weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to meet production demands. Gate Gourmet offers a competitive weekly pay schedule, free uniforms and laundering, and a variety of employee benefits that promote well-being and work-life balance. The company supports its workforce through programs such as employee referral bonuses, life insurance coverage, paid vacation and sick leave after one year, holiday pay, and a comprehensive recognition program.
Joining Gate Gourmet means becoming part of a vibrant community dedicated to making travel experiences better through quality food service. If you are detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about contributing to a team that supports the airline industry, this Food Preparer position presents an excellent opportunity to grow within a respected company that values diversity and equal opportunity employment.
