The Food Preparation Supervisor position at Marion Correctional Institution, operated by Aramark, is a critical role that entails overseeing the preparation of meals and food items through direct supervision of inmates. This position requires planning, organizing, and managing food production according to established standards, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with food safety regulations. The role includes training and motivating staff and inmates, scheduling workloads, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The supervisor is responsible for adhering to HACCP guidelines and implementing Aramark’s 5 P’s process which covers participation, extraction, creation, portion management, and after-process activities to ensure quality and food safety. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • One year of experience in food preparation preferred
  • Food safety certification required
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • Ability to meet security clearance requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum one year of experience in food preparation or related role preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience a plus
  • Experience in a correctional environment preferred
  • Food safety certification required
  • Ability to motivate and manage inmates and team members
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated judgment and professionalism in a correctional setting
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet and maintain security clearance requirements

Job Duties
