The Food Preparation/Dishwasher role is a vital position within our kitchen team, responsible for preparing delicious side dishes that perfectly complement our signature chicken meals while helping maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for food safety, excellent attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Starting at $20 per hour, this position is available as both full-time and part-time employment, offering flexible scheduling to meet your needs. The successful candidate will follow company food handling and safety procedures meticulously to ensure high-quality food product levels throughout their shift. Every day, you will be involved in preparing both cold and hot side dishes according to standardized recipes, with careful inspection of all ingredients used to maintain our high standards.
In addition to food preparation, this role includes responsibilities such as maintaining dish cleanliness in compliance with manual warewashing standards and supporting peers with tasks like restocking products in coolers and packaging cold prepped items. The Food Preparation/Dishwasher will also keep their workspace and equipment sanitized, contributing to overall operational efficiency and safety in the kitchen. Opportunities to assist in training new food preparation staff will also be available, allowing you to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance, manage large trash bags, and maintain mobility and flexibility throughout your shift. You should be prepared for exposure to kitchen heat, cold, odors, and smoke, and for standing or walking for extended periods, especially during busy times when working under pressure is essential.
Candidates for this position must be 18 years or older and hold a valid California Food Handler Certificate. Basic literacy skills are necessary to read recipe cards, which may be in either English or Spanish, and an understanding of how to follow recipes accurately is required. No formal education is necessary, making this role accessible to many individuals interested in gaining experience in the foodservice industry. Job Duties
- Follows company food handling and safety procedures
- follows projections through the shift to maintain proper food product levels at expected quality
- follows cold and hot preparation recipes according to standards and inspects all ingredients
- maintains dishes clean throughout the shift following manual warewashing standards
- provides support to peers such as restocking packed products in coolers for cashiers, packaging cold prepped items, and other tasks assigned
- maintains a clean and sanitized work area, including equipment, tools and storage areas
- assists in training new Food Preparation personnel
- performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
