This role as a Food Prep Worker at Aramark is vital to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and safety that the company is known for. The Food Prep Worker is responsible for preparing and portioning food items in accordance with production requirements and strict Aramark sanitation standards. Utilizing daily worksheets and standardized recipes, this role ensures that meals are cooked consistently and meet quality expectations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with proper food handling procedures, sanitation, and safety policies to support a clean and safe work environment.
The Food Prep Worker supports the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining clean and organized workstations, refrigerators, and equipment. Additionally, this role includes responsibilities such as managing leftover foods carefully—this involves covering, labeling, dating, and storing foods according to company standards—to minimize waste and uphold food quality. Adherence to safety policies and accident reporting procedures is mandatory to foster a secure workplace for all employees. The role may require physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing, as well as the use of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Aramark offers a dynamic work environment where developing new skills is encouraged, and employees are supported in their professional growth. The company recognizes that job duties may evolve or expand to meet operational needs, reflecting a flexible and responsive workplace culture. This position is ideal for individuals who have some experience in food preparation or food service, possess basic math and communication skills, and are committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Working as part of the Aramark team means contributing to a mission-driven organization that values each employee's role in delivering exceptional service and fostering community wellbeing.
