The Food Prep Worker role at Aramark plays a vital part in delivering high-quality food service to guests. This position involves preparing and portioning food items by following prep lists and standardized Aramark recipes to ensure consistency and quality across all food production. The Food Prep Worker is responsible for maintaining food safety by adhering to proper food handling procedures, managing leftover foods accurately through covering, labeling, dating, and storage according to company standards. They ensure that refrigerators and work areas remain clean and orderly and that kitchen stations are sanitized and organized at the end of each shift, including cleaning kitchen equipment.
This role requires maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment that complies with all food safety standards and relevant regulations. The Food Prep Worker also follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures and completes all required training to uphold Aramark’s commitment to a secure workplace. The position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing throughout the shift. Uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in accordance with company policy.
The Food Prep Worker position generally prefers candidates with a minimum of one-year experience in prep work or food service-related roles. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation principles is beneficial. Effective communication skills, including the ability to read and write, are essential for this role to facilitate clear communication within the team. Basic math and counting skills are necessary to accurately follow recipes and portion food items.

- follows proper food handling procedures
- maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness
- manages leftover foods correctly including covering, labeling, dating, and storing according to Aramark standards
- maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
- ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift including cleaning of kitchen equipment
- maintains a safe and sanitary work environment conforming to all food safety standards and regulations
- follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures
- completes all required training
