With a solid commitment to professional development and employee well-being, Aramark provides a welcoming and challenging work environment where individuals are encouraged to grow their talents and pursue their passions. The company is widely recognized for its comprehensive benefit programs and its commitment to workplace diversity and equality.

The Food Prep Worker Lead position at Aramark is a pivotal role within its food service operations. This role involves assisting cooks, chefs, or food service managers by preparing ingredients for recipes and performing various other food preparation and service tasks essential to the smooth functioning of kitchen operations. The worker lead is responsible for preparing food according to standardized recipes and production guidelines, adhering strictly to food safety, food handling, and sanitation protocols. One of the key tasks involves setting up the workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment, which supports efficient and timely food preparation. This role requires accurate measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling of food items as part of preparing ingredients. Furthermore, the Food Prep Worker Lead is expected to skillfully use a wide variety of kitchen utensils, including knives, ensuring safe and effective handling.

In addition to technical food preparation skills, the position requires the individual to lead and coordinate the work of other food prep workers, though without formal performance management responsibilities. Ensuring high standards of food presentation by arranging, garnishing, and portioning food per established guidelines forms an important part of the role, along with the accurate storage of food items in compliance with food safety policies. Keeping the workspace clean and sanitized, including equipment and utensils, is vital to maintaining a hygienic environment that meets regulatory requirements.

Customer service and team cooperation are also significant aspects of this role. The Food Prep Worker Lead maintains an excellent positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers, contributing to a friendly and efficient service atmosphere. The role also involves adherence to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, including strict observance of food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring the security of company assets at all times.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $19.00, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation, with the exact pay rate determined based on the employee's experience and the specific location's requirements. In terms of benefits, Aramark provides a robust program for eligible employees that includes medical, dental, vision, and work/life resources. Additional benefits may cover retirement savings plans like a 401(k), paid days off including parental leave, and disability coverage, varying according to location and eligibility.

The Food Prep Worker Lead position is dynamic and may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Employees may also be required to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety and hygiene standards. This role is ideal for individuals who have demonstrated expertise in food preparation or food service-related work, possess knowledge of food safety regulations and proper knife handling, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Food safety certification is required or must be obtainable by the employee.

Aramark values adaptability, encouraging employees to develop new skills and contribute positively to the company’s goals.
