The Food Prep Worker position at Aramark is vital in maintaining high standards of food quality and safety in accordance with Aramark’s sanitation and production requirements. This role involves preparing and portioning food items using standardized recipes and daily worksheets, ensuring consistency and quality in meal production. The Food Prep Worker is responsible for adhering to proper food handling procedures, managing food rotation to maintain freshness, and correctly storing leftover foods with accurate labeling and dating as per company standards. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in refrigerators and work areas is essential, as is sanitizing and organizing stations and kitchen equipment at the end of each shift. Safety is a key priority in this role, with responsibilities including creating a safe and sanitary work environment compliant with all food safety regulations, following safety policies, and adhering to accident reporting procedures. The role may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking, and sometimes requires the use of personal protective equipment. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related experience preferred
  • knowledge of food preparation procedures and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
  • basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing or walking
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related work preferred
  • knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful
  • must be able to read and write to facilitate communication with others
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes
  • follows proper food handling procedures
  • maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness
  • manages leftover foods correctly, cover, label, date, and accurately store according to Aramark standards
  • maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
  • ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift including cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations
  • follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures
  • completes all required training
