The Food Prep Worker at Aramark plays a vital role in ensuring the preparation and quality of food items in accordance with the company’s high standards. This role involves accurately following prep lists and standardized recipes developed by Aramark and maintaining compliance with all sanitation and food safety requirements. The Food Prep Worker is responsible for preparing food portions, managing leftover foods responsibly, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in workstations and refrigerators. These tasks are performed in alignment with production needs, emphasizing freshness, quality, and safe food handling procedures. Employees in this position must be adaptable to changing job duties, participate fully in required training, and maintain a safe work environment that adheres to all regulatory standards. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related work preferred
  • knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful
  • must be able to read and write
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • adherence to all food safety standards and company policies

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes
  • follows proper food handling procedures
  • maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness
  • manages leftover foods correctly by covering, labeling, dating, and storing according to Aramark standards
  • maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
  • ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift including cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations
