The Food Prep Person at Golden Corral plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and freshness of the Cold Choice Buffet. This position involves the preparation of fresh fruits and vegetables, including activities such as cutting, slicing, and peeling, to ensure that all products meet Golden Corral's stringent standards. The Food Prep Person's work directly influences the visual appeal and fresh impression of the buffet, which reflects on guest perceptions and overall brand quality. Responsibilities include adhering to product specifications and recipes, maintaining inventory, labeling and rotating produce, and following food safety and health department regulations. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or preparation preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare prep items according to Golden Corral product specifications and recipes
  • Maintain a standard inventory of prep items and update guides as directed
  • Ensure optimum yield of products through the product cycle
  • Label, date, and rotate all bulk produce and prepped items
  • Ensure all food items are stored in approved, covered containers
  • Use and follow the buffet production system for quality and shelf life compliance
  • Notify Manager of discrepancies such as food spoilage, invoice errors, or excessive waste
  • Assist Buffet Attendant in maintaining a full, clean buffet
  • Clean, maintain, and organize prep areas including coolers and dry storage
  • Perform duty roster responsibilities ensuring cleanliness, service, and quality standards
  • Follow local health department laws and safety procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks and assist guests during meal periods
