Job Description

Golden Corral is a well-established franchise organization known for its commitment to providing guests with a high-quality dining experience. As a popular buffet restaurant brand across the United States, Golden Corral emphasizes freshness, variety, and presentation in all its food offerings. The company operates many independently owned and operated franchise locations, each dedicated to maintaining the standards that have made Golden Corral a trusted name in casual dining. Operated by local franchisees, each location focuses on delivering exceptional guest service and upholding the brand's reputation for delicious, fresh foods in a welcoming environment.

The Food Prep Person role at Golden Corral is an essential part of ensuring the continued success of the buffet experience. This position is responsible for the preparation of fresh fruits and vegetables used in the Cold Choice Buffet. The food prep activities include cutting, slicing, peeling, and handling produce, all following the brand’s strict product specifications and recipes. The freshness and quality of these items directly affect the guests' perceptions and enjoyment of their meal, making this role critical to maintaining Golden Corral's reputation for excellence.

In addition to preparation, this role involves rigorous inventory management to maintain a standard stock of prep items, alongside proper labeling, dating, and rotation of all produce and prepped goods to ensure freshness and reduce waste. The Food Prep Person also plays a key role in ensuring food safety by using approved, covered storage containers and following all local health department regulations. This includes maintaining and cleaning all prep areas, coolers, dry storage, and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.

The role also includes supporting buffet attendants with maintaining a full and clean buffet during service hours, performing administrative tasks, and assisting guests as needed. Strong communication with management by reporting any discrepancies, such as food spoilage, invoice errors, or waste, is an important aspect of this role, contributing to operational excellence and cost control.

Operating under the guidelines of the franchisee management, the Food Prep Person must be reliable and proactive, helping to ensure that all quality, service, and cleanliness standards are continually met. This position requires an energetic and friendly attitude, as it directly impacts the guest experience and the restaurant's overall success. Employment is with the independent franchisee who owns the location, and all hiring decisions are made by that franchisee. Applicants should be aware that Golden Corral Corporation is not the employer, but the franchisee managing the particular location where the position is available.
