Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to deal with customers, unanticipated problems or events using standard procedures
  • Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment including hot or cold or beverage dispensers, grills, ovens or fry stations and other machines or tools
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described
  • Ability to work in described conditions including exposure to cold and noise
  • Ability to work with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service experience
  • Knowledge of business and customer service principles

Job Duties

  • Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise
  • Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, stocking merchandise according to schematic
  • Validates deliveries by verifying invoices, reviewing discrepancies with Store Manager, delivers outdated merchandise to Store Manager
  • Prepares displays by assembling, dating and price marking in-store displays
  • Rotates food items, monitors quality and freshness measures
  • Monitors and maintains food preparation area and display cases
  • Assists training new associates with emphasis on customer service
  • Monitors and organizes inventory to prevent stock-outs
  • Coaches food service staff to use suggestive selling
  • Makes price changes and places advertising signage
  • Provides prompt excellent customer service
  • Greets and thanks customers
  • Resolves routine customer concerns
  • Reports to work on time and follows dress code
  • Prepares and serves quality food and beverage
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment
  • Sweeps, mops, dusts and cleans various store areas
  • Picks up and disposes of trash
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment
  • Cleans and sanitizes food service equipment
  • Notifies Store Manager of inventory or operating discrepancies
  • Receives and signs vendor deliveries
  • Follows guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
  • Supervises food prep employees in absence of Store Manager
  • Coaches and trains new employees
  • Adjusts staffing based on customer traffic
  • Assists with employee counseling
  • Ensures compliance with laws, health codes and company policies
  • Maintains a safe environment and protects company assets
  • Reports incidents and unsafe conduct
  • Attends job-related meetings
  • Maintains workflow by fostering cooperation
  • Complies with company policies
  • Keeps accurate time records
  • Performs duties with minimal supervision
  • Takes inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
