Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail or food service experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner
  • Ability to deal with customers, unanticipated problems or events using standard procedures
  • Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment including grills, ovens, fry stations, and dispensers
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described
  • Ability to work in the conditions described

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of retail store or food service experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Knowledge of business and customer service principles including planning, organizing, resource management and leadership
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to handle customer concerns using standard procedures
  • Ability to accurately operate equipment including grills, ovens and dispensers
  • Ability to perform physical duties required by the role
  • Ability to work scheduled hours reliably

Job Duties

  • Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise
  • Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, stocking merchandise according to schematic
  • Validates deliveries by verifying invoices and reviewing discrepancies with Store Manager
  • Prepares displays by assembling, dating and price marking in-store displays
  • Rotates food items monitoring quality and freshness measures
  • Monitors and maintains food preparation area and display cases to attract and retain customers
  • Assists training new associates with emphasis on excellent customer service
  • Monitors and organizes inventory to prevent stockouts
  • Coaches food service staff to use suggestive selling and other techniques to maximize sales
  • Makes price changes according to company and brand guidelines
  • Provides prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner
  • Greets and thanks customers
  • Resolves routine customer concerns within guidelines
  • Reports to work on time and follows dress and appearance code
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Sweeps and mops or cleans floors
  • Dusts and/or washes windows, counters, displays, store areas and bathrooms
  • Picks up and disposes of trash, litter or debris
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains food service equipment
  • Notifies Store Manager of any inventory or operating discrepancies
  • Receives and signs vendor deliveries and verifies product quality and quantity
  • Follows company and brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
  • Supervises food prep employees in absence of Store Manager
  • Coaches and trains new employees
  • Monitors customer traffic and adjusts staffing accordingly
  • Assists with counseling employees and provides performance feedback
  • Ensures compliance with government laws, health and safety codes, food brand inspection standards and company policies
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers
  • Reports incidents and unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct
  • Attends job-related meetings and complies with company policies and procedures
  • Maintains accurate time keeping records
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Store Manager
  • Works under minimal supervision
