Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, bend, and pull 35-50 pounds
  • Ability to read and understand recipes and labels in English
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef or cook with minor supervision
  • Some kitchen experience and associate's degree (AA) or equivalent preferred but not necessary
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods and perform bending, pulling, and lifting of 35-50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work weekend hours, holidays, and some extended hours
  • Ability to read recipes, meal charts, measuring tools, and labels in English

Job Duties

  • Wash, sort, prep, slice, and measure ingredients for recipes using condiments, vegetables, and proteins
  • Mix sauces for use in various meals
  • Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and kitchen stations
  • Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep area and workstation at all times and sanitize equipment after each shift or at closing
  • Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea
