Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food preparation or culinary work
- certification in food safety is preferred
- ability to follow detailed recipes and safety protocols
- strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- physical stamina to handle the demands of the job including lifting and standing for long periods
- good communication skills
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- experience in cooking or a related position
- knowledge of fundamental principles of food preparation
- understanding of different cooking methods
- familiarity with essential food safety regulations including food handling, hygiene, and storage protocols
- compliance with food safety standards is vital for certification
- capability in basic math functions and numerical counting
- strong interpersonal communication abilities in both written and verbal forms
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing
Job Duties
- prepare a variety of dishes according to set production guidelines and standardized recipes
- gather all necessary ingredients and equipment at the workstation
- measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as part of ingredient preparation
- use a diverse range of tools safely, including knives
- operate machinery such as baking ovens, stoves, slicing tools, and mixing devices
- employ cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming on various food items
- assemble, decorate, and divide food according to existing standards
- safely store food by adhering to food safety policies and guidelines
- purge and disinfect work areas, machinery, and tools
- uphold a standard of excellence in customer service and present a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers
- follow Aramark's safety guidelines and procedures, prioritizing the maintenance of precise food safety and sanitation measures
