The role advertised is for a skilled Bakery Team Member who will be responsible for the preparation, counter service, and stocking of bakery products such as breads, pastries, cakes, pies, and bars. This role encompasses both the creative aspects of baking, including cake decorating and the development of new recipes and production techniques, as well as the practical functions involving baking, cooling, wrapping, labeling, and ensuring the products meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
The role requires working closely with customers and team members to provide courteous and efficient service at all times. Team Members must adhere strictly to store Standard Operating Procedures and support store and national programs and initiatives, especially those promoting health, safety, and cleanliness standards. Leadership at Whole Foods Market also expects Team Leaders to spend significant time on the floor assisting customers and supporting team members.
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $24.40, commensurate with experience. Eligibility for benefits is based on the terms of the Whole Benefits plan at the time of hire, work location, tenure, and job type. Job Duties
- Produces quality breads and pastries
- produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars
- performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products
- stocks dry products
- develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity
- trains production personnel to the highest standards
- performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays
- maintains all production modules in the Datapax system
- provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
- maximizes sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- ensures compliance with Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- reports safety hazards and violations
- performs other duties as assigned
