The company has a notable reputation for partnering with leading global and local organizations to transform and design workspaces that enhance productivity, creativity, and overall workplace satisfaction. Porter operates with a unique philosophy centered on radical hospitality, which involves going beyond conventional expectations to infuse sincerity and integrity into every aspect of its work.
Porter is actively expanding its presence in California, more specifically in San Francisco, to bring its innovative workspace design philosophy to new markets. The company’s mission includes cultivating empathetic leaders, promoting diversity of talent, and enhancing representation at every level of its operations. As an advocate for inclusivity, Porter is committed to removing barriers to employment and providing plentiful opportunities for career growth across all departments. The organization proudly maintains an equal employment opportunity stance regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status.
The opportunity available is for a full-time Cook position located in San Francisco, California. Compensation for this role ranges from $23 to $25 per hour, in addition to tips. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 15 days of paid time off (PTO), 8 paid holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, a wellness app with reimbursement up to $500 per year, and profit-sharing options.
As a Cook at Porter, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily kitchen operations from setup through service and closing activities. Your responsibilities will focus primarily on preparing and executing breakfast items and smoothies according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. You will be expected to keep your station well-stocked, organized, and functioning smoothly to support a fast-paced service environment. Beyond direct food preparation, you will contribute to ingredient prep, restocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and overall kitchen organization, which are vital to the team’s ongoing success.
This position demands a reliable and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment dedicated to excellent customer service and teamwork. You will interact effectively with various departments and external vendors while operating under pressure during service rushes. The role requires familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards, basic kitchen and line cook skills, and an ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently. Experience with smoothie preparation or café settings is an added advantage given the dedicated smoothie station at Porter.
Working at Porter provides a unique chance to be part of a growing company that prioritizes human-centered design, inclusion, and career development. If you have a passion for creating delicious food, appreciate working in a supportive team environment, and want to contribute to a company that values innovation and empathy, this is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while delivering exceptional service experiences.
