The role being offered is an exciting position within the Whole Foods Market bakery team, focusing on the preparation, production, and presentation of quality breads, pastries, cakes, and pies. This position involves hands-on work with bakery products, including mixing doughs, baking, decorating, and packaging finished items, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and company policies. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- Exposure to temperatures: less than or equal to 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), greater than or equal to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
- May require use of ladders
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of artisan breads and pastries, including cake decorating
- Demonstrates positive attitude, energy, and passion for baking the best breads and pastries
- Basic computer skills
- Demonstrates a passion for cleanliness
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors

Job Duties
- Produces quality breads and pastries
- Produces doughs, mixes, cakes, cookies, breakfast pastries, pies, and bars
- Performs baking, cooling, wrapping, and labeling of products
- Stocks dry products
- Develops new recipes and production techniques to ensure seasonal variance and high productivity
- Trains production personnel to the highest standards in industry
- Performs production planning and forecasting for special events and holidays
