Sodexo is currently seeking a Food Operations Manager (Healthcare) to support the food service operations at a New York City Health + Hospitals acute care facility in New York City. This is an exhilarating opportunity for a service-driven and hands-on leader passionate about healthcare food service to manage a complex, round-the-clock operation serving approximately 1,200 meals daily across three meal periods. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Food Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing daily food service operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory and Sodexo standards, and driving performance outcomes that emphasize patient and customer satisfaction.
The role requires a dynamic leader who excels in fast-paced healthcare environments, adept at balancing operational priorities, labor management, compliance, and client relationships effectively. Key responsibilities include supporting labor management processes such as staffing, scheduling, payroll, and new hire orientation to maintain optimal workforce efficiency. The Food Operations Manager will monitor labor costs, cash controls, productivity, and ensure that financial targets are met or exceeded in alignment with company objectives. Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and contractual standards remains paramount, as does preparing for audit readiness and successful inspections.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of management experience
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

- Leadership experience in healthcare food service
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to be a hands-on leader
- Experience with labor management, payroll, scheduling, and staffing processes
- Knowledge of cash controls, labor cost management, and financial acumen
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, compliance, and workplace safety standards
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, customers, and staff
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-accountability environment
- Passion for customer service and commitment to operational excellence
- Flexibility, compassion, and a collaborative leadership style
- Experience in a union and healthcare environment preferred
- Experience supporting regulatory audits and survey readiness strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Sodexo systems and food management tools is a plus
Job Duties
- Support the General Manager in oversight of daily food service operations in a complex acute care setting
- Help lead a 24/7 operation serving approximately 1,200 meals daily

- Monitor labor costs, cash controls, productivity, and operational performance
- Support achievement of high-quality patient and customer satisfaction outcomes
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and contract standards
- Support audit readiness and successful performance on regular inspections and surveys
- Foster a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and accountability
- Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted operational partner
- Help ensure Sodexo standards are met or exceeded across all aspects of service delivery
