Job Description
Sodexo Schools, a prominent division of Sodexo, is a global leader in food services and facilities management, committed to enhancing quality of life through innovative and reliable service delivery. Sodexo partners with various educational institutions, providing integrated food and nutrition services tailored to support student health and well-being. Their client base includes a wide range of schools and districts, where they are dedicated to not only meeting but exceeding nutritional standards, ensuring a positive dining experience, and driving community engagement.
One of their premier and long-standing clients is the Waco Independent School District (Waco ISD) in Waco, Texas. Serving approximately 15,000 students across 24 schools, Waco ISD is known for its commitment to excellence in education and student services. Sodexo’s partnership with this district focuses on delivering a comprehensive food and nutrition program that aligns with both USDA regulations and district-specific standards.
The role of Food Operations Manager 3 at Waco ISD is a high-visibility leadership position that requires a dynamic and experienced professional. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food service operations within the district, aiming for operational excellence, innovation, and sustained program growth. The Food Operations Manager will lead and mentor a team of managers and hourly associates, ensuring that all food service delivery is consistent, of high quality, and compliant with federal and state guidelines.
This leadership role involves not only managing daily operations, including food production, purchasing, receiving, and inventory control, but also front-of-house operations such as marketing and customer service that contribute to program promotion and community engagement. Additionally, this position plays a critical role in financial management, including budgeting, food costing, and accounts payable/receivable, ensuring financial controls and unit-level accountability.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader adept at building strong partnerships with district leadership, school administrators, and community stakeholders. They will have a passion for student nutrition and a proven track record of driving employee engagement, performance management, and retention. This role is integral to creating a supportive and engaging environment for both staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the food services program.
Compensation for this role is fair and equitable and partially based on education level and years of relevant experience. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, career growth opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. This ensures that the Food Operations Manager is well-supported professionally and personally.
Working at Sodexo means being part of a global community focused on bettering lives through the everyday services that make a difference. The company values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, creating an environment where all employees can thrive, contribute, and be valued for who they are. This role at Waco ISD is a unique opportunity for a motivated food service professional who wants to make a meaningful impact in student nutrition and community wellness.
