Job Description

Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in quality-of-life services, offering integrated solutions in food service, facilities management, and more to enhance experiences for clients and their communities. Among its vast portfolio, Sodexo proudly supports premier accounts such as the Federal Reserve Bank located in Richmond, Virginia. This prestigious partnership highlights the company's commitment to delivering exceptional culinary and operational excellence within a high-profile, professional corporate environment. Sodexo's dedication to improving the quality of life for those they serve is embodied in this role, providing an opportunity for food service leaders to thrive and make a significant impact.

The Food Operations Manager 2 position at the Federal Reserve Bank is designed for financially savvy professionals who excel at balancing operational engagement with financial leadership. This role combines a passion for numbers, insights, and business impact with an involvement in daily operations, without the need to be directly hands-on in the kitchen. As part of a hospitality-forward food program, the manager will oversee a diverse foodservice operation that includes a corporate café with multiple culinary stations offering grill, deli, entrée, global cuisine, and salad bar selections alongside rotating pop-ups. The operation also encompasses a convenient 24-hour Grab & Go with self-checkout, a Starbucks licensed location, and an elevated Executive Dining Room that features a lunch buffet several days per week and provides catering for the entire building.

With a team of 24 hourly employees, this role uniquely combines financial oversight with operational support. It is 70% focused on finance and accounting responsibilities, such as financial reporting, forecasting, budget management, and variance analysis, while 30% involves supporting the smooth execution of food service initiatives and programs. The manager will act as a key financial partner to General Managers and Operations Leaders, driving accountability, performance improvements, and informed decision-making through data-driven insights.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, typically from 6 am until 4 pm with occasional evening shifts and no weekend work, making it ideal for professionals who seek a balanced schedule. Sodexo offers a competitive and equitable salary package based on the candidate’s education level, experience, and skills, complemented by a comprehensive array of benefits that support personal and professional growth.

This role offers a distinctive blend of finance and food service expertise, perfect for individuals experienced in the hospitality sector who want to leverage their analytical skills to optimize labor, control costs, and enhance operational margins. The Food Operations Manager 2 is a trusted advisor to leadership, providing financial coaching and fostering strong collaboration with chefs and operational teams. Regulatory compliance, staffing efficiencies, and business licensing are also managed under the guidance of this professional, ensuring that the high standards of the Federal Reserve Bank account are consistently met.

Overall, the Food Operations Manager 2 role with Sodexo at the Federal Reserve Bank represents an exciting opportunity to lead a financially complex foodservice operation within a respected institution. The position nurtures leadership, financial acumen, and operational insight, contributing meaningfully to the business’s success while promoting a positive workplace culture. Candidates who are detail-oriented, organized, and thrive in a regulated corporate setting will find this position rewarding and impactful.
