The company's dedication to diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities reflects its core values and commitment to fostering respectful and supportive workplace environments. Sodexo's presence in healthcare, education, corporate services, and other sectors enables it to deliver tailored solutions that meet a wide range of client needs.

Currently, Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 to join its team at Women & Infants Hospital, a leading women’s health and newborn care facility in Rhode Island. This position is tailored for a culinary-driven leader with robust operational expertise who excels in a retail-forward environment and understands the complexities of high-volume food production and catering. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about leading large teams, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.

The Food Operations Manager 2 will provide hands-on leadership to support food service operations within a busy healthcare setting. They will oversee day-to-day retail and catering food service, managing approximately 45 hourly associates to foster a culture of culinary excellence, engagement, and accountability. This role requires a subject matter expert who can effectively handle food production and batch cooking processes, manage inventory and purchasing controls including par levels, and ensure seamless operation of retail-heavy food services that prioritize food quality, speed, and customer satisfaction.

This position also involves managing and supporting on-site catering services with a focus on planning, execution, and quality control. The manager will ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and regulatory standards, aligning with Sodexo and healthcare expectations for quality and safety. Additionally, collaborating closely with leadership and culinary teams to drive continuous improvements in food quality, operational efficiency, and cost optimization is an integral part of this role.

Financial management responsibilities include supporting scheduling, payroll, labor optimization, and maintaining financial performance within budgetary guidelines. This role offers an excellent balance of culinary leadership and operational management, ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused environments and who bring a comprehensive understanding of retail foodservice dynamics and catering operations.

Compensation for this position is fair and equitable, typically tailored based on the candidate's education level and years of relevant experience. Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' wellness, financial security, and career growth, reflecting its commitment to the overall quality of life for its team members. This includes medical, dental, and vision care programs, 401(k) plans with matching contributions, paid time off and holidays, as well as opportunities for career development and tuition reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background with hands-on large-scale food production experience. While prior experience with Sodexo is preferred, executive chefs from upscale or high-volume restaurant environments with the right leadership and operational expertise are strongly considered. Proven expertise in high-volume food production, inventory control, purchasing, par level management, and catering is required. This role demands someone with prior experience managing retail or foodservice environments, a demonstrated ability to lead in fast-paced, customer-centric settings, strong communication skills, and a hands-on, visible leadership style.

Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a company that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, ensuring every employee feels respected and empowered to contribute their ideas and thrive.
